Meet Dr. Frost

Kayla is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and wellness coach born and raised in Encinitas, California. She believes that movement is a gift to be celebrated. After graduating with honors from the University of Puget Sound with a B.S. in Exercise Science, she became a Master Personal Trainer at LA Fitness with a certification from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). Kayla’s training approach integrated principles of biomechanics, body awareness, the “food is medicine” philosophy, and mental health. Furthermore, she embraced the idea of “rewilding,” which encompasses practices like consuming fermented foods, engaging in barefoot walks on natural terrain, and replacing conventional chair-sitting with deep squatting exercises.

Kayla found it disheartening that a significant number of her clients were dealing with injuries and chronic illnesses, limiting their ability to fully engage in fitness programs. In her quest to enhance her understanding of the human body and the healing power of movement, Kayla acquired her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, CA. Upon graduation, she received the Outstanding FLEX Physical Therapy Student Award for her professionalism, clinical reasoning, ethical standards, and commitment to professional growth.

Kayla is diligently pursuing her goal of becoming an Institute of Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner (IFMCP). She is committed to educating people about root causes of disease and movement dysfunction, empowering her community to move with ease and unlock their fullest potential. Kayla urges you to keep learning, keep moving, and keep on celebrating your gift!
