About Passage Physical Therapy and Wellness

Passage Physical Therapy and Wellness offers comprehensive health screening and movement education aimed to heal the body and prevent disease. We are dedicated to a “you-centric” approach, taking into account your unique experiences, interests, and goals. By genuinely understanding your story, we can ensure that you receive the highest level of service and support on your wellness journey.

Our practice is grounded in the principles of functional medicine, a science-based, integrative approach to healthcare. We go beyond simply addressing symptoms by delving into the underlying “why” of dysfunction. Recognizing the interconnectedness of the body’s systems, we conduct a thorough assessment of your musculoskeletal and neurological systems through strength, range of motion, mobility, posture, and balance testing. Additionally, we consider the function of other critical body systems, such as the gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, and immune systems.

Together, we work collaboratively to develop a framework for your wellness plan. We address sleep, stress, relationships, nutrition, and movement as key pillars to longevity. This holistic approach enables us to provide you with unparalleled care and personalized solutions for optimizing your health and well-being.

What is Functional Medicine?

Functional medicine is a science-based, personalized approach aimed to create health and prevent disease. Unlike traditional medicine, which often focuses on symptomatic relief, functional medicine seeks to identify and address the underlying root causes of dysfunction. By delving into a person’s genetics, environment, lifestyle, and overall health, functional medicine practitioners create customized treatment plans that support the body’s innate healing processes. The functional medicine clinician asks, “Why is this symptom occurring?”, “What are some environmental or personal factors that may be triggering this symptom?”, and “What is perpetuating this illness or dysfunction?”

By going beyond the surface-level symptoms and digging deeper, functional medicine gets to the root of the issue, allowing for targeted interventions to address dysfunction at its source. As more individuals seek natural and sustainable ways to optimize their health and well-being, functional medicine is gaining momentum. This comprehensive and patient-centered approach represents a paradigm shift in healthcare that is changing the landscape of modern medicine.

What Makes Us Different?

We offer integrative physical therapy

We offer health and movement screens to detect early signs and symptoms of dysfunction to prevent problems down the road. Because our practice is grounded in functional medicine, we look at upstream modulators of health that may be affecting your downstream signs and symptoms.

We spend more one-on-one time with our clients

Contrary to most traditional outpatient physical therapy settings, we offer one-on-one treatment with a physical therapist for the entire session (1 hour and 15 minutes for your Initial Wellness and Movement Evaluation and 1 hour for follow-up sessions). This allows us to get to know you in-depth so that we can effectively guide you to your wellness goals.

We are mobile!

Nowadays, more people are working from home or just prefer treatment in the comfort of their own homes. Passage Physical Therapy and Wellness brings our services to you! This business model allows us to create an individualized program, taking into consideration your home environment and personal schedule.
